Brainiac Pittsburgh Concert reviews
North Carolina Master Choral Ethereal Support
"I found that Brahm's Requiem, Brainiac, and the soloists provided emotional resolution for me. The ethereal voices of the Master Corale and the somber, peaceful, hopeful music were symbiotic. During the first half, I had to fight back tears. I quit my job of 28 years a couple of weeks ago and I was drawn in. I managed composure, imagining the distraction of a sobbing woman in the front row. 'Blessed are they who bear grief, for they shall be comforted.'
There it was, the one seat that seemed to have my name on it. I'm not sure why I chose to sit in the center front row, but I sat 4 feet from the violin section, close enough to Music Director, Grant Llewellyn, to watch the strong, delicate, precise movements. Close enough to see the sweat bead on his forehead. I watched the musicians pluck strings and heard the first moment that bow touched string.
I am not a musical expert, just a listener. In the end, what more could you wish for."
